In addition to small towns, forts, and outposts there are six major cities in the world of Azeroth. Each of the major cities represents the capital and a major hub for the races that inhabit them. The cities are all radically different from each other in themes and appearances. More than just a collection of buildings with NPCs standing around, the cities will serve as a place for adventuring, shopping, training, socializing, and much more. |
World of Warcraft features a map exploration system. Players start out with a blank map with some very basic features. As they explore the world, they unlock portions of the map and also gain experience. This rewards players for exploring and gives players access to maps for future reference. |
You can access the World Map by pressing "m" on the keyboard. There are three levels of zoom. You can zoom out via right-clicking or by pressing the zoom button. You can zoom back in by selecting the area of the map, you wish to visit and left-clicking. |
The scattered wastes of Outland are all that remain of Draenor, the once beautiful homeworld of the orcs. Following the Second War, the Alliance invaded Draenor by crossing through the Dark Portal. To their horror, they discovered that Ner'zhul - the dark warlord of Horde - had constructed a series of new gateways that could lead the beaten Horde to newer, unspoiled worlds. |
